ATV is Fun

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Friday Jul 23, 2010 Under Adventures, Daily Living, Male Topics, Technology, Travel

What is atv? Oh wait, this isn’t a television it is an acronym for All Terrain Vehicle. Gotcha! I think this is one of the expensive hobbies and sports one can indulge with. Acquiring one is not a joke it’s serious :-) and I am not joking. I have not seen any kind of atv, however, television, magazines and internet help me visualize how this car is being driven and finally loved as a hobby and sport. There have been competitions engaiging nowadays and it is the atv racing. It must be a dangerous race, race is race and will always be risky, eventhough an atv is a four-wheeled vehicle. Anyway, you are not going to risk your life if you know you cannot do it don’t you?

Weehhh, and I said, atv is fun! Hmmmm, I think it is, since you are riding like a kid and will somehow bring out the childish in you :-) fun isn’t it?

My First Cebu Pacific Flight Experience

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Wednesday Jul 21, 2010 Under Adventures, Daily Living, Hongkong, Society & Culture, Travel

I forgot to share the experience I or we had during our Hong Kong travel last July 3-5, 2010. We had to grab the Cebu Pac promo which had to be daparted from Clark Pampanga at Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA), the fare costed for more or less 6K each, exclusive of course of the travel and terminal fee amounting to P2,200 and P600 respectively.

Our first time at DMIA, we had to walk from the airport to the plane, maybe we need to don motorcycle jacket, it was hot! I recalled, one of the grandfys that we happened to chat for wee moment told us, “lalakad pa tayo sa disyerto” , I did not get what he used to convey, and then, I realized what was it when we left the airport and saw the plane that we need to reach.

We left the country on July 3, 2010, departure was smooth, and had my unwittingly moment, I  have shared it in my prior post, it was about the P80 coffee I ordered at the plane, thought it was served for free, poor me :-( I had my expensive coffee in the air! The travel lasted for forty-five minutes, and when we were getting lower and the altitude was not that high, I felt I was riding a roller coaster due to the high turbulence made, it was tough, bad and quite disppointing, my first time that way. I have not experienced it during my flight to and from Utah. Fortunately, this bad and turbulent experience was replaced by an amazing pilot who made our flight back to Philippines on July 5, 2010 - landing at DMIA smoothly, no turbulence. In fact, the passengers clapped to surprised and amazement, experiencing a smooth landing back to Clark Pampanga. Just wish all flights are like that :-) A job well done, a pilot worth a loud of applause, but I was so again so bad that I did not know his name, anyway, I still want to express my amazement!

I was born of the 80’s, I am not sure if Pasig River was still clean and safe to swim with during that time. But I did hear of the song “Anak ng Pasig” by Smokey Mountain, this must have been the year where the river started to be filthy. Years waned since then, more than twenty years, what now is the Pasig River? Inhabitants are not abating nor decreasing, they just increase over the years, and this means that more and more human waste and garbage are being thrown in the river. This resulted to a worst Ilog Pasig case.

There have been many advocacies to help revive the Ilog Pasig. One of the countries leading network channel ABS CBN is helping to revive this river particularly their Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog foundation. At present, the network will be conducting a fun run dubbed as the “Run for the Pasig River” to be held on October 10, 2010 (or 10.10.10). I heard it from the news last night, and was interested to participate in this advocacy. This does not only for the river, it also aims to set a new world record for the largest participant in a foot race, current Guinness world record holder is 110,000 held last 1988 “Bay to Breakers” aa race in San Francisco California. Philippines will be aiming to beat that and hopes to gather 120,000 runners, as I’ve said, the main purpose of this is to earn funds for Pasig River rehabilitation efforts.

Everyone is invited, the whole nation is invited, those from schools, the military, private, government and corporate sector are welcome. Kids can join too, even lolo and lola, it’s not the typical run as it is called a fun run, you can walk though at a fun run.

I am interested to participate, and if you too are, you may register online via wwwdot 101010runforthepasigriver.com, there is a P250 registration fee for individuals and P100 for students and members of AFP. A nice bracelet will be given to the participants. Three categories are to be participated, 3K, 5K and 10K, each will be starting from different places. The 3K run will start at the Mall of Asia (hmm maybe I can choose this since I am living nearby), 5K will start at CCP (ah well, this one too, so near!) and the last, 10K will begin at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas in Makati City.

The fun run will congregate at SM Mall of Asia and a concert where ABS CBN start will perform is also to await.

Since the beginning of the advocacy to revive Pasig River, there are already visual changes happened, these were all possible because of the natio’s support and participation.

Let us continue supporting this kind of activity that will help revive not only the rivers or other places but the Philippines most especially. We people can make a big difference, let us join hands in hand and do our best. Change for the best is always happening :-) and we can always have it.

Last May 26th, after the Sunsilk Co-Creation Fashion Week event at MOA Atrium, there was an after party dinner held at Mall of Asia, during the after party, Sunsilk announced the blog contest and how bloggers will win a Lenovo Idealpad and ipod. I fortunately was able to join in Sunsilk Expert- Touched Style Blog contest which was ended on 31st of May, last minute, I submitted my entry to Hair Experts. After a week or two, there came the announcement of the finalists, I received an email from one of the admin peeps and she told me that I made it yey!! As I have written in one of my posts here, I really wasn’t expecting to win, my purpose is to gain viewers, that is why when I learned that I was one of the finalists, I felt happy and lucky as this was unexpected.

I was lucky that the venue for Sunsilk Expert-Touched Style Blog Contest awarding of winners was at Taste Asia, few walks away from the office as I am working just nearby the mentioned resto, at One E-Com Center yey. Ms. Rona texted me an hour before the awarding started. Since I will be just utilizing the elevator and few of my steps, I left the office ten minutes before 12, it was a lunch awarding though. And as I reached the area, I found one mom and three beautiful ladies including Ms. Rona.

The mom I am referring here is the mother of one of the finalists Paula, she was the early bird, next is me, followed by Ellen Joy Castel, also Paula came in right from her Med class from PLM (and she is my fellow PLMayer too!!) then people from Unilever, led by Carlo and Jem (oh sorry I forgot the rest). The lunch was served. I enjoyed our lunch while conversing with Ellen, Tita Tala and Carlo. By the way, the topic was interesting, it was about a motherhood feeling towards their sons and daughters being in a relationship (I will have a separate post for this one, this really needs a sincere and innate idea).

While we were having our lunch, Arvin and Kessa arrived and joined us eating.

The long wait was over, there came the announcement of winners. Well, all of us were already winners, 5 got home an iPod nano and the lucky winner went home with a Lenovo Idealpad. First blogger called was Ellen Joy Castel, next was Paula, followed by Arvin and the girl Willit, whoa, two more and my name has not been called yet. Finally, my name was called, OMG, I thought it was me hehehe, but I was still very happy. Kessa took home the Lenovo Idealpad, lucky her, a great birthday gift! When we were having our picture taking I was beside Kessa and I felt her whole body shaking, indicating the excitement and how happy she was to be the winner of this contest. I felt her happiness and I was very happy for her! Paula was not able to witness and receive her ipod, she left at 12:30 because she still had a class to attend to.

There is an ongoing Avatar street art exbition today here at SM Mall of Asia which I think started at around 2pm. As we passed by the pathway, just between SM Hypermarket and SM Mall of Asia entrance, we saw four groups sitting on the floor and painting different Avatar characters. All of them are drawing under the heat of the sun, yet they endured it trying to make their art amazing.

I took photos of the groups with thier outputs half-finished.

The Prize I’ve Got

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Tuesday May 4, 2010 Under 7107 Cruise, Adventures, Blog Enhancement, Internet/Web Design/ Blogging, Travel

I finally found time to claim the prize from Ysa office last week after my night work, I left the office at 10 am and still had the zest to visit the mentioned office located at White Plains Subd. Nag-effort! The reason behind was because of the picture, and fortunately, they took me pictures receiving the prize, but I have no copy though. Among the contents are two lightening soaps, roll on, lightening cream, lightening lotion and diet supplement which I am currently using. Why not try, who knows, I might be as white as Jinky - or Greta.

Wishing to win more from the blog contests!! I am yet to think when to use the 5k GC I won from Perstaym KO Blog contest, when and where… A three-day cruisin alone…

What A Wonderful Sunday!

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Monday Apr 19, 2010 Under Adventures, Daily Living

Sad but fun, sad because we visited our lost old friend and childhood friend. It was a sad scene to see that one of our friends is already lying in a casket. We watched his pictures and saw how happy he had lived his life, full smiles were shown and wide grin sometimes. I felt sad and symphatize with his left loved ones, I know how hard it is to be in such event of ones life. His mother is almost voiceless, good thing we saw her smiling when we talked to her and told her some stories and experiences we had during our elementary days.

After an hour, we left him, and will never be seeing again, that’s the fact that is also hard to accept. Life goes on..after some storms.

We walked few meters and reached the house of another friend, unfortuntely she wasn’t there so we went straight ahead heading the way back our homes. Yet remembered that there are still friends’ residence along the way and we decided to stopped by again, in Lanie’s home. Had a loud and fun chat, me, Ate Bebot, Menmen and Reynolds. We also spent approximately one hour there, talking about everything we missed. Hope to have some reunion this year.

It was a bit fun, visiting homes of old friends, though just few. But having a quality time with three of my long time friends eked here to the happiness we felt. We never had this since we graduated high school, this was the first time after eleven years, that is why it really is worth it to have get together.

I did not have my siesta, but not regret it, I had fun, wish to happen it again :-)

Summer, As in Super Dooper Hot!!

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Thursday Apr 8, 2010 Under Adventures, Daily Living, Travel

As one of the tropical countries in the world, summer really really is hot! Sweat all over your face and body as you walk down what if those who are working out to burn fats and want to be fit! Wet, wet, wet… I bet if those are disciplined enough, their ideal body weight is at hand. If not, perhaps they should try phosphacore.

Phosphacore claims that one can lose up to 2 inches and 7 lbs a week, so how is that, isn’t it worth to try?

Let’s get back to summer. I don’t really perspire, not much like today, I realized that it is now summertime. When I was heading my way to the office, and headed the minicab terminal, I didn’t dare opening my umbrella, I walked under the sun, and sweat rolled in my body, proof that it is really hot 8) .

Let’s grab this once a year season *hmmmmm* beaches are waiting for us to visit, swim and get wet! it’s time to pamper ourselves and enjoy the heat of the sun. Don’t mind your complexion, don’t mind that you might get sunburn, .kiber, all I want is to enjoy summer! 8)

Good Friday at Kinabuhayan

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Friday Apr 2, 2010 Under Adventures, Daily Living, Filipino Tradition, Society & Culture

This was the first time that I went out on a Good Friday. I went to Kinabuhayan with my two brothers and my father, also with my cousin and two of my brother’s friends. I usually spent Good Friday having picnic sa ilog namin.

The travel was not that long, it lasted for forty minutes from Tiaong Quezon. Afterwhich, we reached the paanan of Mt. Banahaw. Mt. Banahaw is closed for public and mountaineers, to protect it.

Amazing that there were lots of people at the foot of the mountain, taking their bath at the river. We climbed at the cave and went inside of it. Napakainit because of the lighted candles. Sweat flowed down, felt really hot! But felt good though, this was the time to sacrifice, oh not this time only, but all the time during our entire life.

I share the pictures I had using the LG cookie of my brother, unfortunately, the pictures were not as clear as the normal resolution of my digicam.

I went inside the cave together with my brother and cousin. The cave to said brings miracle, there is a water coming from the bukal. We lasted for forty-five minutes inside, the route is not that long, but because of many people bathing inside, we had a long time before we got into it. I felt good, it was my first time to experience it. Hope to be there again and be able to climb Mt. Banahaw.

Not So Old One

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Friday Mar 19, 2010 Under Adventures, Daily Living, Travel, Utah

I love flowers!! I wish someone give me flowers (I wish I wish).. And I never ever received one from someone :-)

Speaking of flowers, saw this one from an album stored in my netbook, a rose taken the time we were strolling in Temple Square i Downtown Utah last June 7, 2009. This is not so old. Just feeling proud of my shot though not as artistic as the others, not as eye-catching as you can see in the net.

Sharing this one for you, can’t wait to have a DLSR :-P

All I can say is that nothing beats the beauty of nature… Molded and created by the loving hands of God.

The Best Place To Go This Lenten Season

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Thursday Feb 18, 2010 Under Adventures, Family, Filipino Tradition, Society & Culture

It’s been a tradition for us Filipinos to visit any places during Lenten season. It started with Ash Wednesday last February 17. We have our different ways of commemorating God’s saving acts of His sacrifices to save His people. Some lends sacrifices by climbing mountains and having penitence. Others visit different stations of the cross.

One popular place to go if you prefer having penitence through mountain climbing is the Mt. Banahaw in Dolores, Quezon, it’s just roughly 100 kilometers away from Manila. The other one, if you want station of the cross is at Kamay Ni Jesus in Lucban, Quezon. There are hundreds of steps you need to go through in order to reach the giant Jesus. Have to pause also to different stations along the way for some prayers.

Photo taken during Tatay’s birthday celebration last anuary 31, 2010.

But our family used to spend lenten season at home with the rest of relatives and having picnic in the nearby river. That’s how simple our Lenten season is.

Working and living in Manila area opened an opportunity for me to explore my hobby of blogging. I never thought and really had no idea that blogging network is a social networking to consider where every bloggers meet in all events and documents such. Honestly, living here is a very great experience for me. Now I got a chance meet some bloggers in every event I’ve attended.

And latest blogging event that I’ve been was Enchanting Hug-A-Palooza, I Gave A Hug at Enchanted Kingdom this Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2010. I am single but I had a chance to celebrate this full of happiness! I enjoyed this day a lot. Thanks to AZ who announced this to us bloggers.

Enchanted Kingdom provided a shuttle for all of us who registered to AZ’ blog, we were fetched by the bus provided to the bloggers at 1:30 in Enchanted Kingdom’s Makati office. Travelled for one hour, and we reached EK at 2:30, still the king sun shone very brightly enough to keep us warm and really hot! Nevertheless, this did not prevent us to enjoy this date. So VIP of us that we did not need to go through a long line to enter the amusement park, we were ushered by Micko to the guest entrance (yes, guest entrance, seldom this happens to me, to  be the VIP in an event). We had our entrance ticket FREE, and Micko also gave us WIZARD MONEY worth Pph200. We registered in the guest list (la la la la LOLS). Afterwhich all of us, I think less than twenty bloggers (others did not make it, more than half on AZ list was not able to go with us, they missed this). I went with a group of eight bloggers, I did not know them personally, except for Ryan Joson who is my officemate. It gave me again the chance to meet persons whom I do not know. Thanks guys for the wonderful Valentine’s Day, another bloggers I’ve met – Carl Valanezona, Nerisa Acmo, Jennet Pineda, Florencio Jusay Jr., Alex Dizon and Maui.

Ryan’s and my entrance pass/wrist pass :-) I loved it pink!!

Holding the Money Wizard worth Php200.00

with Carl, Florence, Alex, Nerisa and Jenneth

We had our first ride Roller Skater, a light roller coaster, a ten seconds coaster hahaha.

Next was the Up Up and Away.

And we wanted thrilling rides, we didn’t attempt to ride Anchors Away, they said it will make them dizzy and might vomit afterwards, which I think is true because I saw a girl who was already leaning to the shoulder of her friends, lupaypay, and cannot move. Others were really had red faces. I did not dare to ride too! AS we were having our photo shoot, we were regaled by an Egyptian/Belly dance by a group od five persons, two men and three women. After some picture taking, we went close to the Space Shuttle, we had our respite first, waited for another blogger Ces. Another part of EK’s program, a parade of Dragon dance to celebrate also the Chinese New year, Kong Hei Fat Choi (yeee tama ba).

While waiting for another activity and thinking what to have next, we had our group picture, free digital photo booth provided by EK.

with the bloggers, Ryan, Maui, Nherz, Jenneth, Shel, Carl, Alex and Florence

Then went back to the seat were we had before, saw Anna Capri with a white guy (at pati to sabihin).

I wanted to ride the space shuttle but Ryan, who also wanted to try that ride was not there with us yet, so FPJ and I decided to went ahead of them. Yey!! I had my space shuttle ride (and again like my Lagoon experience in Utah, I was experiencing this ride with my eyes closed and loud holler). I felt I can take riding Space Shuttle because I was able to overcome and ride in Lagoon’s Collossus, a much bigger, more thrilling than Space Shuttle. This time, I was not wearing my eyeglasses anymore, afraid that it might fly again like what happened in Collossus. I am not afraid of Space Shuttle, the picture shows (LOLS na LOLS!!), it depicts a thousand words. Honestly, I was not scared, medyo exaggerated lang yung camera who took this photo (LOLS).

let’s compare this Space Shuttle with Collosus of Lagoon SLC Utah

No ride anymore, it’s getting darker and the Hug-A-Palooza and fireworks is soon to start. But before this, a band (sorry I did not know the name) regaled us with some music. And at exactly 6:15, the program started hosted by Tirso Cruz III and the lady who owns the EK. After few words and some inspiring messages, the Hug-A-Palooza and giving hugs in trying to make a record happened with fireworks display at the same time. Families, friends and couples were there giving hugs with each other. And it ended. We were nowhere to ride anymore.

Wow, i was in the crowd, trying to wait for someone to give me a hug :-)

It was also a nice thing that I was able to see one of my closest friends and former officemate Wayne, she was there with her family. We just had a wee chat while Wayne was chasing her nephew. And after some minutes, we separated our ways, she was looking for Karen and I joined my blogger group.

We had our lunch and rest for a while in front of RioGrande. While me and Ryan were eating stir fried rice and potato fries respectively, we saw Sheena Halili, and the star struck of had some pictures with this actress (LOLS).

Kakapagod but happy, my feet were really ngalay but we still kept on walking and had lots of pictures. And nung mag eight thirty na, we went outside and took pictures again with the bloggers, buti na lang lumabas na kami and was able to join them with pictures hahaha. Syempre we need to document this, it is the reason why we were invited. And we left EK at 8:45pm.

Blogger team, preparing to take off at 8:30 pm

I did not regret spending heart’s day being single, in fact, I enjoyed it more than quintiplet! I am happy attending bloggers’ event like this, I am happy meeting people, the adventurous side of me is being developed while I am doing this things. Again another set of  bloggers were met, and hopefully I will still see them in the next event. Watch out for Enchanted Kingdom’s summer promo, we were advised to be there again.

I gave a hug and enjoyed enchanting Hug-A-Palooza at Enchanted Kingdom!!!

Thanks Ryan Joson of The Black Fedora and Nhers Marie for some of the photos here :-)

Filipino Talent to be Proud of - Catherine Loria

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Sunday Feb 7, 2010 Under Adventures, Entertainment

Hello world and hello Philippines! Naks, those were the lines of PBB hosts. I am proud to announce that the talented teenager from our town Tiaong, Quezon (Brgy. Lusacan) made it to Top 1 in Singapore Search Singing Contest. I heard it also this morning when I attended the mass from Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of the World (BVMQW). No doubt, I personally heard her great singing voice, had a goose bump that time, admired her amazing rendition of Stand Up For Love at LNHS. Ang layo na ng narating nya for me! And I am proud that she has become such, I admire her perseverance of reaching her dreams, I admire her diligence of using her singing talent in the best possible ways – to show to the world how great Filipinos are!

She was the Grand Champion of 2008 World Championship of Performing Arts!

She is Catherine Loria, I am deeply proud of her. We are proud of the honor she is bringing to the Philippines, showcasing her talent around the world is indeed worth taking our pride! One of the country’s prides Catherine Loria.

Another Fruitful Day

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Thursday Feb 4, 2010 Under Adventures, Daily Living

What you feel inside reflects outside… wow… that’s how I felt yesterday. I was full of happiness as if I have achieved nirvana and the euphoria I felt was really unexplainable. Why? Because my happiness really had no exact reason, basta I was happy.. I really felt I was walking in clouds, smiles were always peeping, saw them in me.

I worked from 9:30 pm until 9:00 am, but I did not feel any weary feeling, did not feel exhausted, I was full of zest to stay awake that morning. After my pc got all white and you see nothing saying I should go, and even Ms. Ysa told me my pc was saying me to go, and finally I left ACS office and went away. I decided to buy my breakfast in 7 11, and there was a funny and blooper thing happened to me. This is what happened, parang mas masaya if i say it in Tagalog, hmmmm so ganito, I was wearing a styletos (wahaaha tama ba spelling), with matulis na heels, and the doormat just before you enter the 7 11 ay maraming butas, talagang di mo maiiwasang tumapak because it’s doormat, the purpose of it is tapakan, rubber doormat, waaahahahaha, and when i stepped my left foot sa doormat hindi ko na maiangat ang paa ko because lumusot yung takong sa butas, then i stepped my right foot to force my left para matanggal pagkakalubog, har har har, to no avail, pareho silang lumusot, I really was holding the door bars tight para maiangat ko mga paa ko pero to no avail, sobrang lumusot yung mga takong, what I did, tinanggal ko ang paa ko wearing shoes and tinanggal ko na lang with my kamay until loob, so i was barefooted entering the convinience store. The traffic men who were having their breakfast inside were watching me ha ha ha… And I just thrown them my smile, I was not ashamed natawa pa talaga ako sa blooper ko yesterday.

I had to enrol na that day, before I left, I curled my hair muna, di muna ako naligo eh. After breakfast I left for my PLM enrolment. I was there at 10 am. Fortunate was me that I found my classmate, (jeje classmate agad) who was a graduate of PLM, so i will never have to ask where is the registrat, where is SIS, where is the library. I had it processed well! Thanks Catherine Tolentino for guiding me and for knowing you (not only a classmate, a potential friend too). Eto pa pala, because I had my hair curled, I had no idea that the ID will be processed the same day of enrolment, jejeje, and so I had my picture taken with my curly hair, kumusta naman yun? I wonder how I look? Because we arrived there at 10am, and the process will really take you long, inabot na kami ng lunc break, we were not able to finish it before they had. So we waited pa to resume their office, it was when we were at the registrar, and then finally after an hour, they handed our three classcards! Nice, after eight years, I will be going back to school! Exams, recitation reports and the dreadful thesis are waiting, I missed being a student again. And what startled us was our schedule, we will be attending the calss every Saturday, the time - eto kumusta naman, as per our schedule, from 8:00 am until 6:30pm, no breaks in between…. (di kami kakain :-( )

And goodluck to me being a student again. Another challenging part of my life :-P My class will start on the 13th of February.

Another fruitful day! I reached my boarding house at 2:00, wow and i need to have my sleep, pasok pa ako at night 9pm. I did it!!!

What I Miss…2/4

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Thursday Jan 21, 2010 Under Adventures, Travel, jobs

In continuation of what I miss, here is another post relative to it.

After spending our first working week in Utah, we had to enjoy ourselves visiting some of the states famous places, one of these is the Park City.  One of our SME’s took us first to the mountain where there was snow, touched it though filthy and felt the cold as in 7degreeF, (i was wearing a high-heeled sandals then, no other shoes to don). After few minutes, we went ahead to Park City itself, that was Sunday so most of the stores were closed observing their rest and family day.

Here are the photos of what we’ve had.

see my footwear (lols) :-P

And those were the Park City days… that I miss… wish i will be able to get back there and experience the super cool environment as being covered by snow…notjust a mountain snow cup, but snow eerywhere, snow that you can actually eat.

And so till then,
