We Need a Healthy Diet

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Monday Mar 8, 2010 Under Daily Living

With the growing cases of natural phenomenon that caused devastation, from the typhoons our country had experienced - Ondoy to name one, to the earthquake that hit Haiti, Chile and lastly Turkey last Monday, killing hundreds of nationalities, with all these we need to take care of ourselves, we have nothing left to do but to take care of ourselves. We Filipinos are currently experiencing El Niño, hot weather annoyed everyone, we don’t want to prolong this right?

Right food intake is to keep in mind, foods that are effective for colon and body cleanse. Keep that in mind, this is our shield and protection for what are happening around us. And alongside is a prayer, the strongest key to all.

What Now??

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Monday Mar 8, 2010 Under Daily Living, Family

Being complete in the sad event of our clan somehow made us a bit happier. It made us closer. It was the only time that we shared thoughts and laughters.

I am getting out of ideas, I don’t know the exact topic to write. I hardly find time finishing blogging tasks nowadays. It’s then I realized that I was really busy those past weeks, from the wake of my grandmother to her necrological, my sad birthday celebration, my MBA class…. Now what…my MBA class, I find it hard to go back to studying mode. I realized that having stopped for eight years made it hard for me to revert back being student, I want to excel, but how will I do it when I am not srudying our lessons prior to attending the class? I have no books yet :-( I also have wee time left for browsing the soft copies given to us. I really need to set ample amount of time studying. My busy schedule last week was one of the factors though, I must change it this week and the subsequent weeks. I need to prepare for my report. I want to be commended and praised as well by Dra. Esmero, how about that? Due to sleepless nights and busy sched, (i was going back and forth in our province almost daily last week), I was not able to make my DEC SCIE assignment, I had it copied from my seatmate. Fortunately, I was able to grasp the linear programming last Saturday, I was first reluctant how they arrived at some stuff. :-)

What now???? I need to have a better time management, set the best time table - allocate time both for work and studies….. I can do it!!!

Experimenting and Testing

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Sunday Mar 7, 2010 Under Daily Living

Pimples have been a long time problem i face. And a common joke I heard is;

How will i face my problem if the problem is my face?

I tried so many facial products to make these pimples banish yet nothing was effective, except for one… Wanna surmise what is it? These are not acne, fortunately, if so, I will surely find it hard to find an acne solutions. I even had a diamond peel session, but was unsatisfied with the result, it was not worth the amount i spent for it. I even took pills as suggested by my officemate yet after taking four tablets, these three to five red swelling pimples protuded again, and I felt afraid, I stopped it before these red swelling pimples covered my whole face. They told me to wait after four months because the effectivity of the pill will take that long. Oh no, I don’t want to smuggle that long and just let pimples exist, what if it does not stop?

I am tired of experimenting and testing products, it seems I am justing wasting some money with those tests. I mut stick with what I am currently using. But will try to consult a dermatologist soon, it’s one of the benefit of our company healthcard, might as well grab it!

Moving On…

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Friday Mar 5, 2010 Under Daily Living

Today is the 9th day without our lola. She had been so good to the thirty four of us, her grand daughters and grandsons. I am the eldest among us, that’s why I witnessed how she really took care all of us. She did not mind traveling from Novaliches until Sampaloc Quezon just to visit us.

She took care of me well, helped me during my college days. Same with the rest of my cousins. Last Thursday, we had her necrological service and burial, everyone of us shed tears, showing how much we love her.

Perhaps for some people, lolo and lola are really not meant that much for them, we are exception, with the way she showed love and concern for us, we made her loved so much!

Zenni Optical

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Friday Mar 5, 2010 Under Advertisement, Daily Living

Due to some unwanted eye exposure like computers and some other factors, our eyes have been affected causing some incorrect visual that needs to be corrected using eyeglasses. Most of us like me would like to see the beauty of things, so must wear the eyeglasses.

If you are looking for a best eyeglasses to buy, specifically those located in New York, this is the suggested optical place for you, the Zenni Optical. They offer cheap eyegalsses and a perfect solution to your old store offering expensive pairs.  To give you idea,  they sell full prescription starting at $8 per pair, so low right? Their prices range from $8-$40. But there are some extra or additional charges for bifocals or thick lenses, for anti-glare coating and etc. Shipping charge is just $4.95 no matter how many pairs you order, so might as well order more to take opportunity of this low shipping cost.

Zenni Optical also uses the latest modern materials, manufacturing and marketing systems and what more interesting is, they bring their product direct from their factories right to your doors. Their prescriptive eyeglasses are cheap yet fashionable, high quality and durable. Your money is worth it! You save a lot when you purchase from Zenni Optical.

I Just Turned a Year Older

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Wednesday Mar 3, 2010 Under Daily Living

Happy birthday Dhynnes :-)

I used to celebrate my birthday in a normal way, I am not used to having bountiful food servings and invites. I wont to have just a simple celebration, wee foods that we feel will usurp the six of us, and some of our relatives nearby is enough. But today is different, not because I have lots on the table, but because I celebrated my birthday during my grandmother’s wake. I had it celebrated with my father’s siblings and some of cousins. Half sadness half happiness filled my day, sadness that I had it during my lola’s wake and happiness that I celebrated it with Lieva kins.

I turned a year older, I am now twenty-nine, and I can say that for that age, I have fulfilled myself and my family with some of my dreams, yet something remains to be achieved. Lots of things have happened during my twenty-eight years, there were ups and downs and euphoric and solitude moments, trials were also there trying to hamper the path achieving my dreams, but I did not give up. I still consider my years and life here on earth a fruitful and blessed one.

As I live my years and cope up with test of lives, I was able to be adamant and heed whatever life brings to me. Much more are to await, I should not relax and be contented with what I have, let me rephrase, I have lots of dreams to fulfilled, my dreams are not at hands yet, and that’s what I am currently working on. I don’t mind how old I am now, what I know is that, I feel I have to fulfill my dreams, I need to do it, and I am sure I can achieve it. Dreaming and making ways to achieve it is one of the traits I admire with myself. So I keep on dreaming!

My life is qualified for Maalalaala Mo Kaya, I want to share it countrywide, but I don’t have the story to pass on yet, still etch in my mind and heart, waiting to be transcribed and shared, hopefully someday when I already fulfill what I want.

And We Lost Her

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Monday Mar 1, 2010 Under Daily Living

At the age of 70, our lola left us. We thought all the while that she will recuperate in her condition. I saw her okay, though was not able to join us chatting, that was last February 19. We had no idea that despite the medical treatment given to her, she still was not able to survive. We are very thankful that she did not suffer much pain, she did not experience that.

And I will be celebrating my birthday without her, but with her laying on a casket. I know she’ll never forget that very special day of mine and some of my cousins’ too. I am very thankful that she was my lola, our lola, who helped us during some difficult times of our lives. She took care of some of her grand-daughters and grandsons, including me and Sheena. Sheena, speaking of her, she is the closest apo , but was not able to see her for years as she is in Dubai. It will be a very sad, tearful and heart-breaking scene to see that Sheena will be coming home on Tuesday and see our lola in that condition. I know how hard it will for her, she really wants to visit lola and see her condition, unfortunately, so many factors prevented her of not doing so.

We are all gather to join lola in few days and nights here on earth, though lifeless, we are complete, the siblings of my father who seldom visit our lola. Sad, that some of them were not able to see her strong, healthy and alive.

This is not the end, so many things are still to happen. Life must go on. In this kind of life’s situation, cooperation and everyone’s support are seen, showed how everyone loves each of them and our Great Lola.

May she rest in peace. We all love you :-)

Suffering Brain Injury

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Wednesday Feb 24, 2010 Under Daily Living

One of the worst cases of health condition is a brain injury. And if a person having this would definitely be treated nice and understand their cases. If worse comes to worst and the person who’ve this and can’t be treated at home, it is advised that a person having brain injurybe brought to a place or hospital to better cure, medicated and hopefully surpass the suffering condition. It is hard to accept that some of us, and some from our family have to undergo such treatment, but that’s badly needed. A person having this brain injury does not know what she is doing, she is not aware of her activities, of her acts, that’s why she needs understanding and special treatment.

Cases here in the Philippines I would say, I have no exact figure yet as to how many of us Filipinos has this brain injury. I heard a lot of numerous cases flashing on television, yet have no idea how exact they are. It is sad to know that this case is obiquitos and can never be averted. We all hope that someday these cases shall be lessened and that we all continue taking care of all the survivor. The survivor did not want to have that kind of injury.

Living Life to the Fullest

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Wednesday Feb 24, 2010 Under Advertisement, Daily Living

I am one of those persons who value and treasure the life given to me by our Great Creator. I at the same time value and love things that give meaning to my life. I enjoy the way I live, I enjoy things I have now, and treasure what I had before. I have been to many sacrifices years back, and was able to cope up with them, did my best to break what hampered me, inspired me though to do so.

We cannot have all the things we want in just a snap of a finger, in a wink of an eye, in a splash of a wand, we need to make our best to achieve it. Doing this, we need to take care of ourselves, it’s not just working and working and working, we need to enjoy and protect our life. One thing for sure that will eke protection is acquiring a life insurance, I had this before, I saw the benefits of having one, but I wasn’t able to pay for my quarterly amortization so the insurance company had to stop it too. But I am very much willing to review  free life insurance quote and decide should I need to acquire the best one again. It’ll save my life, it’ll protect me :-)

EMS -

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Tuesday Feb 23, 2010 Under Daily Living

I’ve been to many manufacturing companies that are ISO certified. And to be able to pass this certification – EMS or Environmental Management System audit should be done.  And part of the audit is how the company operates minding the environment. Proper waste disposal that may cause pollution if not monitored, is part of the EMS. It is being done here in the Philippines. One of the persons that I dealt with this EMS is Edgar San Jose as monitored by Rene Chavez who is a Chemical Engineer. They both do good in terms of environment aspect, trying not to create any bad environment impression and failed in ISO re-certification. Remember, EMS and QMS are important to pass in ISO of different certifying body.

I visited my lola (grandmother) last Sunday, I saw her suffering condition, she hardly stand, almost lying all day when we were there. I had to talk to her hours after hours, trying to comfort her. His medical condition is brought by her dotage, or should I say, her being old. But we still want her to survive her condition, I can feel she will. She has helped me a lot during my college days. I will never forget it :-) We really love her. I always served her the food she was asking, orange to name one. But she was not able to finish it, and I am worried. She doesn’t look emaciated, she even has a stout face but thin body - in Pinoy term manas.

She was recently brought to the hospital and tested with pulse oximeter. An ultrasound was also performed. Hope she recuperates soon.

I was so unfortunate that I was not able to watch the February 15 and 20, 2010 episode of It’s Showtime. February 15, Monday, I had work and obviously had not watched and February 20 Saturday, I had class so the same. I also had no idea that male youngsters from our town, including my cousin, Oliver Joble were competed in the mentioned show and won. Last February 15 episode, they were the first contestant and luckily the winner too! Saturday which was a weekly episode, there were three group winners, including the Extreme Force Dancers. Napa WOW ang mga judges especially Vice Ganda :-)

Their concept was a computer game Super Mario, cutie-cutie and fun! I downloaded the clip from you-tube courtesy of PINASWATCH12. I am waiting for the monthly finals, and hopefully they will still win and hopefully I could watch too. It’s more fulfilling if you watch them performing on TV, on time, than viewing it in the internet.

February 20, 2010 Weekly Competition Episode

Waiting for the monthly video clip and more awards! We are very proud to all those Tiaongans who always bring honor to the Philippines. (I am one :-)  ).

Why Choose to Have an Insurance

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Sunday Feb 21, 2010 Under Advertisement, Daily Living

I am not insurance marketer or agent, I am not trying to gain clients with any company with insurance. But why do I need to post this though? North Carolina health insurance I think is one of the best insurance companies which will offer and guarantee best services. I know how important health insurance is, it is very beneficial when anyone of you in the family gets sick unexpectedly and you don’t have much cash in your pocket. If you have the health insurance, worry-free because you can right away bring yourself :-) or your family to the accredited hospitals even without cash, you will get the attention of the hospital’s attendants too.

Think not of how much you pay for it as amortization, it does not cost much unlike those without health insurance, monthly amortization is much affordable than giving out huge amount of cash to pay for the bills.

Get one now and be insured with your health!

2nd Day

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Sunday Feb 21, 2010 Under Daily Living

I love my Marketing professor ms.Asuncion Esmero!

Last week she wasn’t able to meet us because it was her last day in an off-campus  teaching, and so yesterday she was present to meet us and discussed something about MBA and some overview how to pass the program. I carefully listened to what she was saying and felt nervous , thinking that I may not pass the program. But at the back of my mind, I kept on saying, I will finish it with flying colors, I want to excel in my class of 38 students. I will pass the comprehensive examination and case analysis’ defense. I have long way to go, let’s be prepared for that in two years :-)

Going back to Ms. Esmero, A CPA/MBA/Phd….wow, a Certified Public Accountant who has Master’s Degree and a Doctor??? I admire her! Wanna have some Doctorate too! She inspired me, she is nice and I feel that she will be a great help to all of us who are aiming for something better. At a first glance, I thought that she is a not so nice professor, but as she kept on talking and discussing something about the rules and regulations, and how is the process of PLM MBA, i started to like her, smiles and jokes were popping out of her. I really really like her. I hope that we could learn a lot from her!!

Making Out For Your Plans

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Saturday Feb 20, 2010 Under Advertisement, Daily Living, Family

I have been aiming many times for our home plans, plans of rebuilding it, plans of makit it bautiful, so on and so forth. I am so fortunate and so blessed that I was able to materialize those plans wherein was one of me dreams years ago. It was in my heart and in my mind; home plans. It takes time, it’s not easy though, but with your effort exertion and some diligence, everything will turn out well and plans will be executed with some actions that will lead to materializing those plans.

I was dreaming to have my mansion, I was dreaming to build a two-storey home, how nice! I am still dreaming, but not only dreaming, I am dreaming with execution, dreaming and making ways to make them a reality. Others might just want to dream, dream and dream and making no actions, please exclude me from them, because when I say dream, I say it’s gonna be a reality!

Time for Vacation..Time to Relax..

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Saturday Feb 20, 2010 Under Advertisement, Daily Living

It’s summertime! Yet some of us hasn’t gotten over spring yet (of course dud, still snowing in some part of the world) But here in the Philippines, the heat is on! Time for some beaches, time for outings, time for some relaxation, whoa I love it!! Sun, sun, sun and the blue sky.. I wish by that time, I already have my SLR (I wish, I wish, I wish). I haven’t tried Outer Banks vacation homes yet, might wanna have one, someday.

Meantime, I will first consume the prize I receive from Ohmski, a Php5,000 cruise GC from 7107. I already inquired to 7107 Island office on how can I use the GC,according to them, it’s just a discount. If i will be wanting to cruise going to Subic for two days and three nights the original cost is Php6,500 less the GC i receive, so I would pay only Php1,500, not only that, if I book earlier, the cost eill be Php5,500, so I would have to add Php500 only. Nice right? I can grab it and cruise even I am alone, it’s no problem with me. There will also be free meals so why not grab it right? I would have it consumed during my semestral break, I don’t want to miss my MBA class and my work.

Looking for a more relaxed summer :-)
