Showtime Season 2

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Monday Jul 26, 2010 Under Daily Living, Entertainment, It's Show Time, weight loss

First day of the week, Monday, and it’s closing week for us. I was able to watch the 2nd season of It’s Showtime, one of the entertaining shows in the Philippines. I only was able to watch the group of healthy women who sang “One Night Only” - The Biriteras.

All of them are stout, but sang well as in to the highest note, I surmise they also are looking for the best place to buy apidexin. They also wanted to feel lighter and there are many ways to do it. Anyway, it’s their lives though, and I am not trying to meddle them, just some sort of expressing my opinion :-)

I was born of the 80’s, I am not sure if Pasig River was still clean and safe to swim with during that time. But I did hear of the song “Anak ng Pasig” by Smokey Mountain, this must have been the year where the river started to be filthy. Years waned since then, more than twenty years, what now is the Pasig River? Inhabitants are not abating nor decreasing, they just increase over the years, and this means that more and more human waste and garbage are being thrown in the river. This resulted to a worst Ilog Pasig case.

There have been many advocacies to help revive the Ilog Pasig. One of the countries leading network channel ABS CBN is helping to revive this river particularly their Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog foundation. At present, the network will be conducting a fun run dubbed as the “Run for the Pasig River” to be held on October 10, 2010 (or 10.10.10). I heard it from the news last night, and was interested to participate in this advocacy. This does not only for the river, it also aims to set a new world record for the largest participant in a foot race, current Guinness world record holder is 110,000 held last 1988 “Bay to Breakers” aa race in San Francisco California. Philippines will be aiming to beat that and hopes to gather 120,000 runners, as I’ve said, the main purpose of this is to earn funds for Pasig River rehabilitation efforts.

Everyone is invited, the whole nation is invited, those from schools, the military, private, government and corporate sector are welcome. Kids can join too, even lolo and lola, it’s not the typical run as it is called a fun run, you can walk though at a fun run.

I am interested to participate, and if you too are, you may register online via wwwdot 101010runforthepasigriver.com, there is a P250 registration fee for individuals and P100 for students and members of AFP. A nice bracelet will be given to the participants. Three categories are to be participated, 3K, 5K and 10K, each will be starting from different places. The 3K run will start at the Mall of Asia (hmm maybe I can choose this since I am living nearby), 5K will start at CCP (ah well, this one too, so near!) and the last, 10K will begin at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas in Makati City.

The fun run will congregate at SM Mall of Asia and a concert where ABS CBN start will perform is also to await.

Since the beginning of the advocacy to revive Pasig River, there are already visual changes happened, these were all possible because of the natio’s support and participation.

Let us continue supporting this kind of activity that will help revive not only the rivers or other places but the Philippines most especially. We people can make a big difference, let us join hands in hand and do our best. Change for the best is always happening :-) and we can always have it.

Pinoy Got Talent Final Semis

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Sunday Jun 6, 2010 Under Entertainment, Pinoy Got Talent

I was able to watch the final semi final of Pinoy Got Talent, semi finalists were from Baguio, Cavite, Bacolod and Cordillera, wait there still one but I forgot where she came from, the healthy singer whom I’ve said in one of my posts to try weight loss pills, she was big last night. Judges even asked her what did she do as she really gained weight. She told Kris Aquino, “Nothing, I did a lot of sleeping and drunk cold water” and she thought these were the reason of her being big. She also told them “Perhaps because of my dress, this was my first time to don this”. Hmmmm….

And the child, the blind child who sang May Bukas Pa, touched again the judges hearts, he made Ai-Ai and Kris cried. I myself also cried when I was watching him, he is very lucky that though he is blind God has given him a very great gift. Goodluck kid!

Hope I will be able to watch the PGT grand finals, I do not know when this is slated though, but i’ll see.

Angel Locsin’s Latest 2010 F&H Photo

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Wednesday Apr 7, 2010 Under ASAP XV, Daily Living, Entertainment, Female Topic

I went on strolling the MOA yesterday, visited some of the boutiques and scrutinized their items, as well as the price, and decide whether to buy it or not.

What caught my eyes and attention was the photo, latest photo of Angel Locsin in (F&H) Folded and HUng. She really is stunning, awesome, beautiful and sexy, what else can I say, but, lovely! *woot* (photos to be taken and posted later)

I hope she does not age, otherwise, I think she will need to use an anti- wrinkle cream to look young forever. At any rate, I still love her, though she dosn’t have much TV appearances nowadays, the fact that she transferred to ABS-CBN is enough for me to adore him though :-)

Angel, stay as you are :-)

Agua Bendita of ABS-CBN

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Saturday Apr 3, 2010 Under Entertainment

This Holy Week, ABS-CBN has this Agua Bendita Marathon wherein those past episodes were shown. There were scenes that made me cry, Agua Bendita is a nice show, there are moral lessons. Hopefully I can continue watching it during its regular showing.

The main character here is Andie Eigenmann who looks really good in television, she is not as healthy or as chubby the first time I saw her in PBB, she looks sexy now!

Well, we also have a family version of Agua Bendita, we call it Agua Maldita. They are my cousins who have resemblance. The one is nice the other one is maldita.

No to Post

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Sunday Mar 28, 2010 Under Daily Living

Due to busy activities from work and class, I hardly think of any topic to post. I just thought of writing anything that comes out of my mind as of this moment. I am spending my weekend here in Cabatang Tiaong, Quezon, my hometown, I love to always go home, nobody feels great when at home. I still managed to go home after my class last Saturday!

And by the way, I admire and i believe in the energy power brought by Cobra energy drink, imagine, I only had thirty minute sleep on a saturday morning, just dozed after my office hours 9pm to 6am of the following day, I am on a night shift again. I told myself “Goodluck sa klase ko on Saturday, di pa ko nakakatulog”… buti na lang there is this cobra that I always sipped everytime I felt like i am sleepy, this has made me alive, awake and energetic.

di namin alam to nung kinunan ni brye, thanks brye!!see the cobra i have :-)

eto, take 2, di kasi ako masyado kita sa first shot eh, tinakpan ako ng netbook ko.

I still managed to travel for three hours as I was going home, yun nga lang, I was sleeping for two hours despite the fast drive of the bus. Cobra is really strong! I advice it to take when you are sleepless, just don’t drink it agad agad, drink it little by little. Drink a bottle of it in a day and you’re awake.

I wasn’t able to wake early today on a Sunday to attend a Palm Sunday mass, inay did not bother me sleeping as she knew I was not having a full rest yet. So here goes my netbook again, some letters do not appear as I type.

I am currently watching ASAP XV, their part 2 of Boracay episode. Wow and GMA 7 changed SOP to Party Pilipino!! No vail, ASAP remains number 1 nationwide!! I bet it 7 will keep on changing the program title, the new one not as appealing and not as artistic, so might as well think of a very good program title… Yung title pa lang eh panalo na, kahit hindi yung mga artista :-) peace… I am getting biased I know..

I think this no to post is over…Hope I can have something interesting to post, ung not about myself naman.. Hmmm, wait, a blogger event is yet to come, the awarding of The New Me glutamax contest, it is on April 7 at Eastwood Libis, and I will come. No winners have been announced yet, that day the winners will be revealed. Looking forward to that, I am not hoping to be one of the winners especially of the macbook *faints* 8)

First Time to Watch Pinoy Got Talent

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Saturday Mar 6, 2010 Under Advertisement

It was tonight that I was able to watch Pinoy Got Talent, a show to showcase the talents of Filipinos. Ai-Ai Delas Alas, Kris Aquino and (omg) I do not know the man. Anyway, they judge well.

And one of the hopefuls tonight was a thirty-year old single mother from Cebu (omg, I forgot the name, it was flashed in ABS CBN). She sang “I Believe”, when I  finally realized”… She perhaps would like to try some quick weight loss to look better on television, as she said, she weighs 256 pounds. I got carried away with her song, I shed tears because she was so emotional, according to her, she was being discouraged by her father when she was trying to join competition years ago. And it was during her PGT audition that she saw “for the first time” her father cheered for her. Voice like an international inger according to Ai-Ai.

Hope to watch some PGT episode and see many talented Pinoys!!

Did you watch last night’s late episode of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB)?.. Buti na lang one of my roomamtes has this ability to kid the Opto she’s been with in the hospital she works on, and he lent her the portable TV which he wasn’t using. Kaya ngayon, we are updated! We now know that there is a tropical depression visiting again on Saturday or Sunday, we somehow see episodes of Lovers in Paris with KC and Papa P! and mostly, we are being regaled by the humurous and funny natural acting (as if) of PBB housemates! Lalo na with Melissa, i really like her, ang galing! Everytime each of us arrives in the office, topic would be what had happened last night on PBB.

I was inspired to write on today as I was touched by the way Patrick sacrificed for the sake of the team’s budget. I even shed tears. I really admire people who are willing to sacrifice for the sake of others. Imagine standing straight for twelve hours??? Kumusta naman yun?? :-) but he did it! Kaya ko din yun ah! Je je je je… I salute you Pat!!

Sacrificing oneself isn’t hard if you feel it in your heart, it is how our Lord sacrificed for all of us. Hope we are also willing to do the same when someone needs it.

I can sacrifice! :-)

PAG-ASA..

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Tuesday Oct 6, 2009 Under Daily Living, Family, Filipino Tradition, Internet/Web Design/ Blogging, Life, News

As I walked my way from office down to the terminal, I heard from the the lady behind me a comment about the forecasts proclaimed by PAG-ASA, she was with a man, and she discussed this to him, she said “Ang T—A talaga ng PAG-ASA, sasabihing malakas daw ang ulan sa Manila, e eto’t sobrang araw nga, mali mali sila mag forecast, ilalagay pa ang Manila sa State of Calamity” - in an irate voice. This inspired me to write this post, because I remember, I read a comment from the news posted in ABS-CBN, a Filipino commented on the news posted by ABS-CBN, a news which was really lifted from PAG-ASA, napagtagni-tagni ko ang mga negative traits ng ilan sa ating mga kapwa Pinoy.

Putting yourself in their shoes, I mean those of the persons behind PAG-ASA, those who scrutinize them and making negative comments, like the persons I’ve mentioned above, if they were to perform the duties of PAG-ASA personnel, what would their weather forecast be? Are they going to be that accurate? Our country is doing their best in order to relay and convey to nation the necessary and momentous weather news, to make us prepared and safe. Yes, sometimes, it is not that accurate, but still, they give us those warnings that we can surely use!, given the fact that we still belong to a third world country and has no hi-tech machines or  equipment to accurately achieve exact weather reports. But they help us a lot right? They still warn us, and we should all be thankful that no one was harmed, except of course, some part of the country. I hope that before we throw and utter negative comments to the people who work for us, think first a thousand times, think of the benefit they give us.

Those heartless, or better yet, ruthless persons are not worth living here, ang kakapal ng mukha ang yayabang, so braggart to say something sa mga taong nakakatulong ng malaki sa kapwa! Why not share what they have instead of talaktak, why not reach out to the needy!! Lagi sinasabi, that OFW’s are the modern heroes, tama ba? or not all? Hindi lahat di ba? They cannot even show respect to our countrymen, why to called hero then (yung iba lang) ????.. Dont scorn your fellow Filipino, don’t disdain the capability of our country…

I just opine…

Typhoon Ondoy - the aftermath..

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Monday Sep 28, 2009 Under Daily Living, Filipino Tradition, News, Society & Culture

The country had been struck by typhoon “Ondoy” and what was greatly affected was the Manila area particularly Marikina (Provident Village), Pasig, Quezon City etc. and many provinces like Rizal, Pampanga, Bulacan Infanta Quezon. The typhoon caused heavy flood that measured the height of a man, mudflow and landslides. We were so fortunate, we in Tiaong Quezon, that we were not affected, it was just raining hardly, no much wind blowing. We had electricity so we can watch the news all day and night, and saw how painful, how grave the pandemonium was. I pitied my fellow Filipinos affected by this typhoon, they were staying over their roof, no foods and drinks. Cars had been drenched. Many had lost their lives, even some soldiers and volunteers shed their lives for saving people, another “HERO” act. I saw how our countrymen call for nation’s help in this natural disaster. Early of Sunday morning Kris together with Father Tito Caluag and Tina Monson-Palma led the call asking for pledges and donations through ABS CBN Sagip Kapamilya, and it was a great help for our countrymen who are in dire need. Some ABS CBN artists participated also to this activity by answering the phones.

My funny moment - you may want to laugh at my experience, i was surfing the net in our wooden-made kusina, that was around 1:30 pm of Saturday, the rain was so hard, and i saw that the big part of the mango tree in frontyard is falling as in i heard it falling, i felt it was just over the roof of our kitchen, para akong sira, hindi ako tumakbo or umalis from kusina because of sanga falling, natakot ako na mawala ang signal kaya hindi ako umalis sa pwesto ko, this seemed, hindi ako natakot na mabagsakan at madaganan, natakot akong mawalan ng signal at hindi makapag internet, i was just holding my netbook but not attempted to run out. Funny :-)

I hope that we all recover from this disaster, that we make ourselves ready and prepared in case something like this happens again. And that more importantly, we should learn from this, we also had fault, garbage are being thrown everywhere, sometimes we forget our mother nature, we are just thinking of ourselves, the best we could have not minding the nature. And i believe the effect of ONDOY was just one of the nature’s grievances.

I just opine…

Till then…

The Legacy of President Cory Aquino

Posted by Dhina Lieva on Monday Aug 3, 2009 Under Life, News, Politics

I was five years old when Mrs. Aquino had been elected as Philippine President, and by the power of millions of Filipinos, she was able to dethrone Ferdinand Marcos who at that time, a dictator leader. I was innocent and unaware of what was happening around me by then, adding to the fact that unfortunately, we had no television to watch everything with. Through the years during my elementary days i realized and learned everything about her and Ninoy, but not fully equipped. And honestly, it was only during this time, now that Cory left us, that i fully understand what happened yore.

I was in my disbelief on Saturday morning as i watched the ABS CBN early morning SALAMAT CORY, i thought it was still part of the vigil last night, but then Julius Babao told in the show that our former president passed away at exactly 3:18 am while the whole family was reciting the 5th mystery of Holy Rosary. The whole nation mourn for the death of the momentous person who brought back democracy to our country, a true Filipino, religious and a fighter, she was not only a mother of her children but a mother of the whole nation.

The whole nation look up to her, even the other nation, US to name one, she had influenced many great leaders, admired her of her courage and will to serve people. She was the first woman leader of the country. And even Hillary Clinton admired her of her great love of the country. In an interview done by ABS CBN, “I’m so sorry, I wrote her a note a few weeks ago when I heard that she was so sick. I admired her greatly. She was a woman of courage who loved her country. She and her family sacrificed so much to try to give the people of the Philippines a better future. And I think that she’s an inspiration not only to the Philippines but to people everywhere who believe in the right values and positive future.”

My tears fell down as I watched every news with Cory’s death, more so when Kris was in The Buzz, interviewed by Boy Abunda telling all about her mother, all those pain our former president had gone through. I finished watching LABAN ni CORY on Sunday evening and it was then that i fully understood all something about them. How Ninoy fought for the country and pursued by Cory when he died. A very rich and nice history to tell for yesteryears. The couple trully is worth to be called HEROES.

What will be our life now if not for the couple’s effort of bringing back democracy? How will Philippines look like without freedom? This is the best thing they’ve done for us, because they trully and sincerely cared for all of us, to lift the country from the dire.

Let us all treasure what Aquino couple had done for our country, let us not forget their momentous contribution, they were indeed the true and real picture of nation’s leader, not afraid to fight, not afraid to conquer leaders who are abusing their powers and later corrupt the country’s wealth.

Till then…

~dhynnes~ :-)
